Breathable Contact Lenses

Who Benefits From Breathable Contact Lenses

By now you must have heard about this new generation of contact lenses that is supposed to be way better than the traditional hard contacts, and at the same time even better than the all so comfortable soft contacts. But even so many people are not changing in to using breathable contact lenses but they are sticking with their own preferences. Why is that? Who does benefit from RGP-Contacts?

Normally people who can't use the hard lenses or the soft lenses to get a sharp image and acceptable level of vision, are the ones that try out with RPGs. Normally it includes people who are strict about their vision. They do not accept a slight distortion of smoothness, but instead they want it to be perfectly sharp, and these are people who don't accept minor problems. These breathable lenses work great if you want to see perfectly.

These lenses have many advantages when they are compared against the hard and soft lenses, and they are even considered to be better for your eyes. Since they allow oxygen to pass nearly freely, you are less prone to suffer from eye infections, and before people who constantly have these problems were just advised to use eyeglasses instead of contact lenses - today you can tell them to get breathable contact lenses and they are as well off than with using no contacts at all.

Don't get confused with the word "Rigid" when it comes to RGPs they are far from PNMS that are hard lenses. These RGPs are made from materials like silicone and hydrogel and are soft and comfortable - although many people have to wear them for a while before they enjoy them as much as soft contacts, but they are quite close. The most important thing that you need to remember is the ability to pass on the oxygen almost freely, and this makes your eyes free from corneal oxygen deficiency which will result in having pains in your eyes at the end of the day, irritation and dryness. This results in continuous use of moisturizing eyedrops.

Since companies like Ciba Vision and Air Optix are making great lines of breathable contact lenses, you will no longer have to worry about these problems, if you only choose to use these lenses. Also people who suffer from astigmatism that can't usually use soft lenses are showing to have great experiences with RGPs, and even when people have bifocal and multifocal lenses regularly, they can get custom made Rigid Gas Permeable Contact Lenses, and since there are many different types of astigmatism, there is also many different types of contacts.
